Photo Session and P&L District

This weekend was fun and exciting! On Sat, I did a photo shoot...the first one of 2008! Lynsey recommended me for maternity pictures since she was happy with hers. Angela and Dustin came over to the house and we did a shoot. It was a lot of fun! They both were very nice and photogenic! I was very happy with the end results! Here are a few examples. Also, you can check out more from them if you click under my links on the right side of this page.
Sat night, Cody came over and went with Michael and I to the Power and Light District. It is a neat area and you should check it out if you haven't already. We hung out at McFadden's and also the center area. It's a great place to people watch!

Sunday, Michael and Cody played with fire trying to burn our burn pile. There were a ton of leaves and sticks in it. It also has some dirt and very dense, wet leaves...so it's not all gone. Actually, as of today (Wed), it's still smoking...

I worked on editing Angela's pictures, which is what I like doing best! We ended up going to dinner at Jazz, and then watching the movie Baby Mama...pretty funny! It was a great weekend!

Bowling and Parties..

Friday, our friend Russell was in town, so we decided to go bowling. Twelve of us met up at Park Lanes for cosmic bowling. We had a good time, wish I had taken pictures! And, I broke over 100 both games!

Sat, Michael worked and I ran errands. Cody hung out and kept me company as I ran all over town getting things done! It was nice to have help! That night, Michael headed to Lake Perry to celebrate his dad's birthday. I was sad to miss it, but had a wedding shower for a friend of mine. I went over to Kristin's and had fun at her wine and cheese party. I don't know much about wine, but found a concord wine that was wonderful! After the party, we ended up going out to Raoul's Velvet Room. It was nice to have a girl's night!

Sunday, Michael and I worked on the yard some more. We finally finished picking up leaves! Now, we have a massive burn pile that we need to light on fire soon! Anyone up for a bonfire?

Receptions, Horton, and Stoves...

Well, just to let everyone that's in suspense know...I did win my work bracket and walked away with $120! I never win anything, so it's a huge thing. Ok, now on with important stuff:

Friday, we went to our friends' wedding reception at Zona Rosa. Chad and Tiffany live out in CA and got married in Mexico last Oct. It was great to see them, and hang out with our friends! We need to get out to CA and visit them!

Sat, Michael and I headed to Horton. It was my sister's last high school play. She did a great job. We'll miss going to them...maybe we'll see some of her in college. Now, she just needs to pick where she's going to go! After the play, Chelsie (my soon to be sister-in-law) high-lighted and cut my hair. She did a great job! It is actually blonder than it looks..I think the lighting/shower curtain makes it look darker and redder than it is. Chelsie graduates cosmetology school in June. Jason graduates this May, they'll be getting married towards the end of Sept! Can't wait for the wedding!

Sunday, we went to church and had dinner. Then, we headed back to KC. Our stove was in, so we went to Sears and picked it up! I love it! We have only cooked one meal on it so far, but it's fantastic. There's so many burners on top. Also, the middle oval one can be changed out for a griddle! You hopefully can tell in the pictures. It also has a convection oven, a warming drawer, and other options that I don't know how to use yet! It makes me want to cook all the time! We'll see how long that feeling lasts... =)

Family and Kitchen...

This was a fun weekend. Friday, Michael and I went to Granny's Chicken Ranch for date night. It's has pretty good home-style food. It's new out at the Legend's area.
Sat, Michael worked on a car that he bought from his work. It's an Audi that he got a great price on, although it needs lots of work to get it running and in good condition. But, it shouldn't be a problem since he's trained on them and can get parts for a good price. He should be able to make a good profit on it!
That night, we went to Jason and Morgan's for a family night. It was fun, we ordered pizza in and watched the KU game. It was exciting, and thankfully for my bracket, they won! So far, I've been in first place at work...I never win anything, so I'm super excited! I'll be in the top places if KU wins the championship...so we'll see what happens tomorrow!

Today, we got some things done. Michael worked on the lawn mower and I picked up more sticks. We had a crazy windy day this last week and it left lots of debris in our yard. Cody ended up coming over to hang out. We went to Sears with him and bought a new stove! I'm so excited, but a little disappointed...it won't come in until Thursday. Guess I'll have to wait a few days. I'll post pictures of it then. Here's some pictures of the kitchen as of now... We still need to paint underneath the cabinets, put another clear coat on and put up the handles. Also, we need to put up the curtain above the sink. Before and After:

Busy, busy...

Friday was exciting for me...I got my yearly bonus and raise! Now, it's burning a hole in my pocket. You may see pictures of a new stove on here soon... That night, Michael and I went to Bonefish Grill for date night. It is somewhat pricey, but delicious!

Sat, Lynsey met me at my house and we headed to a Tupperware party. I have never been to one and am excited to get my order! After that, I had a facial appt. and did a little shopping. That night Lynsey, Jeff, Dana, and Cliff met at our house and then we went over to Steph's and Kristi's. From there, we all went to the P&L district. It was packed, we had an alright time.

Sunday, Michael and I worked in our yard all afternoon picking up sticks and leaves! It still needs a lot of work, but we are making progress. Too bad with the wind the next day, there are now more sticks to pick up! We'll get there eventually.

After work on Monday, I got a call from my mom. My dad and her were at Nebraska Furniture Mart looking at bar stools for their kitchen. We ended up meeting them out there and then ate at Jazz. It was really good and fun to share with my parents!
