Job Possibilities...

Friday night, Michael and I went to Lee's Summit to visit Cody. We ate at a really good old school diner. They had great burgers and fries. We definitely want to go back! Then, we went to see Step Brothers, it was pretty funny!

Sat, I had a lunch meeting in Overland Park. I met with Judy Williams, her photography business is escalating very fast. She is needing help with digital retouching, and I am looking to get more experience and tips in Photoshop and in taking photos. It went very well, we think we can help each other out. I'm going to start taking on some of her re-touching and will be going to assist her with some photo shoots. She'll give me pointers on both and I'll hopefully be able to take some work off her hands. Also, a little extra cash will be nice, and I get to do the re-touching in my house! Hopefully, this will be a good step in having my own business in photography! I go on our first shoot together at a wedding in Aug! Wish me luck!

Michael and I really didn't do much Sat. night, we did eat at Jazz. It's always good and they had a live Jazz band!

Sunday, after church, I headed to Horton for Chelsie's Pampered Chef bridal shower. The shower was good. I think Chelsie got a lot of fun cooking stuff to stock up their kitchen with. Michael went to Lake Perry to sail with his dad for the day. He had a good time too!

It was a great weekend, but can you believe it? I didn't take any pictures all weekend!!! I'll do better next week!

Branson Family Vacation

Last weekend I went with my family to Branson. We all haven't been on a vacation together in years! We left in a rented mini van on Sat morning from my house. After checking into the hotel (the Windmill Inn) and eating, we went to the new show, "Noah." It was good, and the detail and props were amazing! For part of it, the audience was in the arc! When we got back to the hotel, us kids walked down the strip to a fun 50's diner/ice-cream shop. It was fun to stroll down it, but it's no fun trying to drive down it...you move very, very slowly.

Sunday, we got up and headed to Silver Dollar City. We had lots of fun riding the rides. My favorite was a huge water ride where you are on a raft and fly down a tube that curves back and forth. It was great, but you do get soaked as you can see from a couple of the picts! We also saw a couple shows there....a magic show and a circus on ice show. They were both good, the ice show was awesome! We were exhausted by time we got back to the hotel. I swear we had so much more energy when we were kids at theme parks! We just hung out around the hotel that night.

Monday, we got up and did some shopping at one of the outlet malls. We got a few bargains there! Then, we headed for KC. On the way we stopped at the Osceola Cheese Store. I had heard good things about it and I do LOVE cheese. You get to sample all kinds of fun cheeses. I bought several for Michael and his family as souvenirs. The ones I purchased: pizza cheese, garlic and herb cheese, beer cheese, wild buffalo wing cheese, and green olive cheese. We got to KC around 6pm. I had a lot of fun, but was ready to be home and see Michael! My family went to a Royal's game after dropping me off to finish up their trip!

Andrea's Birthday

Ok, I know I’m super late on my post this week, but in my defense, I’ve been sick! I am now just feeling better and I’m still congested.

Friday, Michael and I went to Stroud’s for date night. I have heard everyone telling how wonderful the food it….Well, we both thought it was just ok. Nothing was fantastic, but it wasn’t exactly bad though. We probably won’t be going back though. Oh well…probably just us.

Sat, Michael worked and I ran around doing errands. That night we went out for Andrea’s 30th birthday party. It was lots of fun! We met at La Bodega for dinner. The sangria was the best! Then we headed down to the P&L district. We hung out in the middle by the stage. They have a dance floor and were playing great music. We had a blast and didn’t get home til almost 4am!

Sunday, we pretty much didn’t accomplish anything since we were still tired from the night before. We did go see Hancock. It was good….a little different that what I was expecting, but I enjoyed it!

4th of July...

This was a fun holiday weekend. My boss let us out from work at 12:30, so I got to bring lunch up to Michael and enjoy it with him. That night we went on date night to PF Chang's. We love their lettuce wraps!!!

Friday, we headed to the lake. It was fun hanging out and swimming. We came back home that night since Michael had to work in the morning. Michael ended up getting off work early, Cody came over and we all went back to the lake Sat. afternoon. We grilled and swam again during the day. That night, we all watched the fireworks display they had off the dam. We ended up spending the night out on the lake and left early Sunday morning.

We took a nap and really didn't do much on Sunday. We did try a new pizza place...George's pizza on 95th and Antioch. It was yummy! We will definitely go back!

Also, I took engagement pictures of my brother and his fiancé, I'm editing them now. I'll post some of those soon! They turned out great!

Brad Visits!

Ok, so I'm really behind on last weekend...oh well, here it is:
My brother Brad came to visit us in KC! He got here late afternoon on Friday. After Michael got home, we went to Lee's Summit to hang out with Cody. We ate at a fun pizza place, then went to Paradise Park. We rode go-karts and played a game of miniature golf! It was lots of fun. We ended the night with some custard. Thanks Cody for showing us around your town! (sorry for the crappy pictures, it was dark and I didn't have my good camera!)

Sat, Michael worked, so Brad and I were on our own. We didn't do too much...ended up playing a little tennis and going for a walk. We also made Michael lunch for when he had is break. That night, we went to Tanners for a birthday party, then went bowling. Bowling was lots of fun...

Sunday, we went to the P&L district to look around it during the day. There was an art fair going on. After that, we headed to church. Brad enjoyed the youth mass with all the music from the band. We had a nice dinner, and hung out. He left the next morning. It was fun to have him here. Thanks Brad for visiting!
