Russell's b-day

Friday night, Michael, Cody, and I headed to Sol Cantina on Martini Corner to meet some friends. We just hung out on the patio. It was a perfect summer night to sit outside with friends.

Sat was busy, with lots of running around. Michael decided to borrow Jeff James' Harley and go riding for the day with Ben. He had so much fun and came home wanting to buy his own. (we'll see about that!) Oh, and now, every comment starts out as....well, when you ride Harleys....etc. It's already getting old!!! Cody and I spent the day running all around town. We went to the mall and did a little shopping. Then, to Lola's happiness, we took her to the dog park. She had lots of fun, and didn't run far away this time. It was also great exercise for us! She loves playing in the lake, playing with other dogs, and biting the water!

That night, the three of us went to a birthday party for our friend, Russell. We took a Limo to the P&L District. It was fun and I think Russell had a great time! Happy birthday to him!

Yesterday, not much went on. I think we were all tired from the weekend. My parents were in town and we all went to lunch. Besides that, we just chilled at home.

Today, Michael started a new job, he's pretty excited about the opportunity. It's at a brand new independent repair shop, that today is their first day open too. So, if you have any car problems, let him know! I can't remember the name of it, but it's on Shawnee Mission Parkway and Midland Dr...so it's very close to home, which is great with the crazy gas prices. It will be a great experience for Michael to watch and see how they get it started and how things work since he and Cody want to open their own place sometime.

Shelby's Wedding...

Friday, Michael and I went to visit my Great-Aunt, Grace. She's always so sweet and encouraging even though she's sick. We didn't realize it til we got there, but it was her birthday too! We had a good time chatting with her.

From there, we headed to Horton. That night, we just hung out with my family. My Aunt and Uncle from NM were in town for my cousin's wedding. So, we all caught up on each other's lives. Sat, was Shelby and Brandy's wedding. It was outside, but the day cooperated well. It was a little windy, but that helped with the heat. We had a break between the wedding and the reception. The reception was in town...the wedding party arrived on a trailor pulled by a tractor! We all had lots of fun! Shelby and Brandy looked very happy! It was a good weekend with family.

The Lake...

Friday night, Michael and I went to TGI Friday's for date night. Then, we stopped by Geoff Mellott's house to help celebrate his birthday. There ended up being a pretty large group hanging out in their back yard. It was a great summer night with friends!

Sat, Michael and I went to Perry Lake to hang out on his dad's boat. It was a nice to get away from the city. Janis, Lynsey, Jeff, and Tyler were there when we showed up. After hanging out at their slip, we headed out on the lake. We anchored for awhile, then headed to a cove where we met up with Jeff and Lynsey's friends. They fed us taco salad...it was delicious! We ended up staying the night on the boat with everyone, and Jeff made us breakfast on Sunday morning. It's funny, how we didn't do that much out there, but we were still exhausted when we got home and took a wonderful, long nap. There's nothing better than a nap in your own bed!!!

Parties

Well, Friday night Michael and I each did our own thing. Michael hung out with his friend Geoff, and I went to a SATC party at Sarah's house. She is the perfect host! We had lots of appetizers, cosmos, and gift bags! From there we headed to the movie. It was really good, even though I have only seen episodes here and there! (the picture is blurry, but it's all I got of the group!)

Sat, I went with a friend from work to a tennis clinic. It was mainly a tennis lesson. The most experience with tennis that I've ever had was when we learned the rules and how to hit the ball in PE class. In college, I volleyed a bit with a few friends. So, needless to say, I wasn't that great. It was an interesting experience. It was like going to practice, with the coach correcting everything you did. (turn you hand more to the right, don't lead with your elbow, take a step with your right foot as you hit it, swing all the way through, and many more "helpful" tips) It brought me back to my days in volleyball! I'm glad I went, but doubt I go again. I do want to play a bit with Michael at the park by our house though, with no one critiquing us!

That night, Michael, Cody, and I went to Lisa's for a BBQ party. It was lots of fun! It's always a good time hanging out with friends...

Sunday, we didn't do much. I slept in, which was great.
