Christmas!!!

Looks like Tute found his present...or so he thinks! And, here's Zoe thinking she needs to be super cute too!

I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone. It goes so fast. We had a great one though. Sunday, we headed over to Michael's parents for the "Newton Christmas", which includes all his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. It was fun, and the food was great! Christmas Eve day, we headed to Horton. My family got the best present that day...ELECTRICTY! They had been out for two weeks from the bad ice storm. They were so excited, they had almost given up on getting it before the holidays! We all headed to my Aunt's house that afternoon and celebrated Christmas with my mom's side. We had fun and got some good presents. That night, we all went to Midnight Mass in Horton...although, it was actually 10pm mass.

On Christmas, my family opened our presents from Santa and from each other. Everyone got lots of good stuff! And, it was great to have Michael there on Christmas morning! After that, we had to get around for lunch. The Rice side came over and we had another large dinner and a gift exchange. It was fun to see everyone.
From Horton, we headed to Michael's sister's house. We opened presents there and then had the 4th large dinner in three days! It was good as the others. We spent some time with the family, then headed back to our house to finally open presents from each other. We had a great Christmas and was glad to see our families!
Michael is excited for all the snow. He has a snow plow on the front of his lawnmower!

A little behind...

Ok, I'm behind from two weeks ago...

Two weeks ago...we went to the Trans Siberian Orchestra. It was so much fun! It is our 2nd year to go, and we plan on making this a Christmas tradition! They are so awesome along with the laser light show! If you have never heard them, check them out on you tube. The next day, I had a girls night out at Houlihan's. We exchanged Christmas gifts...it was lots of fun!

This last week has been interesting. With the bad weather, we lost power one night...but it came on the next day. BUT, my family (in Horton, KS) lost power a week ago and is still without it. They came to visit this last Thursday to get a break from the dark and cold. We did a little Christmas shopping while my brother finished typing a paper for his class. They are saying it may still be a week or more before they get electricity!

This weekend, we took it easy. Friday night, we went to Longhorn for date night, then headed to our friend's house of Nate and Michelle. Nate just graduated from the police academy and was having a party. The next day we didn't do much...ended up hanging out with Cody and met Lynsey and Jeff for drinks. Yesterday, we watched movies all day and relaxed! It was nice since most weekends are super busy! Can't believe Christmas is almost here!!!

My Birthday!

Nov. 27th was my birthday. I turned 28! I guess the advantage of having it during the week and around a holiday means that I get to celebrate it several times! When we were in Horton for Thanksgiving, we celebrated with my family. I got some great gifts including a couple games we need to try out!

On my birthday, Michael gave me the perfect presents (check out his beautiful wrapping) and took me out to eat at Paulo and Bill's. It was pretty good. Then, we headed to his parents for cake and icecream...good stuff!

This last weekend, we had people over and then went bowling. I hadn't been in quite awhile. It was lots of fun and good to hang out with friends! Also, my parents came on Sat, during the day. We ate at Oklahoma Joe's....the BEST BBQ ever!!!

Thanksgiving and Christmas Decorating!

This was a fun week and weekend! Michael and I both had off Thanksgiving, so we headed to Horton Wed. night. The night before Thanksgiving is when everyone that has moved from Horton comes back to hang out at "The Wheel" (the one bar in town). It was a lot of fun. I got to see Karen and chat with her, and some people that I haven't seen in years!

Thanksgiving was lots of fun, but very busy as usual. We had a late lunch at my parent's house, then we headed to Michael's parents for another meal. Everything was really good and I ate way too much!
Sat, I met up with Jackie for lunch and some shopping. It was great to see her and catch up!

Sunday; Michael, Lola, and I went to get a Christmas tree! I love this time of year! The holidays seem to put everyone in good moods! We had fun picking out one! When we got home, we decorated it, along with the rest of our house while listening to Christmas music. Now, it really feels like the holidays! Yea!

Two Birthdays and a Play...

This weekend was lots of fun! Friday after work, we headed to Horton for the weekend. We hung out most the weekend. Kelsey was in the musical on Sat; Bye, Bye, Birdie. It was good and pretty funny. Kelsey did a great job!

Sunday was Jason's birthday. He opened our gifts Sat night and then we had ice cream cake on Sunday. I think he had a nice b-day.

After church on Sunday, we headed to Gardner for Tyler's birthday. He actually turned one year old today! I can't believe it's been that long already! He's doing great at walking around! I think his favorite presents were the balloons!

Lynsey's Designs...

I'm excited! Lynsey has her website up and running! She is now selling her awesome family trees and bracelets! They make great gifts, and it's the season for trying to find that "perfect gift." Please check out the website. I'll also put this link on the right side of the page for future use. She gave their parents one for their aniversary with all of us on it...I love how classy it looks! Here's the website and an example of a tree and a few bracelets:

Pizza Party!

This weekend, I hosted a girl's night out at my house. It was alot of fun and we had a good turnout! I decided to have a pizza party. (thanks to Lynsey for the idea!) I made the dough a day before. Then, that day, everyone came over with their toppings. It was really fun to make our own pizzas. Everyone had a small one that they created. We chatted, and played a game. It was fun to hang out with the girls!

The Weekend

We really didn't do much this weekend. Friday, we ate at Houlihan's for date night. They have the best potato soup that I've ever eaten! Tonight, I'm trying a recipe that I found on the internet that is suppose to be from Houlihan's...so we'll see. Sat, Michael worked and I ran some errands. I also went to see my friend Sarah. She just moved into an apt. on the plaza. It's really cute and has a great view. We bought the movie, Transformers that night. If you haven't seen it, it's good! The graphics and sound are awesome. Sunday, we got a few things done around the house.

Here's a couple picts from Halloween. Tyler came to trick or treat at our house. What a cute ghost!

Halloween Parties and birthdays..

What a busy weekend we had! Friday was Michael's birthday! He opened presents from me after work. That night we met up with some friends and then headed to a Halloween party at our friend's barn. It was fun and there were a lot of good costumes. And, we were....Mario and Princess Peach from Mario Brothers games! Everyone liked our costumes!

Sat, we went to see Lynsey at a craft show. She's selling really nice family trees and braclets. The family tree is like the one she made for their parents' anv. I'll do a blog with the website soon!

That night, we had a Halloween scavenager hunt. Lynsey put it on. It was really fun. We were split into teams of 6 or 7 and had 2 1/2 hours to drive all over the place to find out stuff! Michael and I were on different teams, but had a great time! It was a great idea!

Sunday, we celebrated Michael's birthday with his family. He's 27 now! They came over for dinner. We also opened presents and had cake and icecream! It was a fun weekend, but I'm super tired today!

Pumpkins and OU

This was an exciting weekend. Friday night, Michael and I went to Carrabba's Italian grill. It was ok, we have had better Italian though. By the way, Michael doesn't usually have this much facial hair or look this scruffy, but he's growing it out for his halloween costume!

Sat evening I headed to Ottawa. It was homecoming at OU (where I went to college for two years) and I met up with my friend Melissa for dinner. We ran into a bunch of friends from school and headed to a party to catch up with everyone.

On Sunday, Michael and I met his family for our yearly "getting pumpkins". We go to a place in DeSoto. They have a barn, lots of pumpkins to choose from, home-made goodies, animals, and other country things. It was lots of fun, but very windy!
