Jody's Present

Ok, I'm so behind, but we've been a little busy...in CA! As I posted before, Sarah and I did a special project for Jody and Kester's wedding present. Finally, I can post a picture of it. I'm hoping to be able to get into making these and selling them at craft fairs and through friends. Now, I need to get more and different variations of letters.

Can you tell what it says? (answer at the bottom of the post)

Once I have more letters, prices, and other details worked out, I'll post how to order one if anyone's interested!

I'm typing up details about our trip, so I'll post soon!

Ok, the photos are the letters for Jody and Kester's last name: Kyrie

Parties and skating...

Friday night, Michael and I had date night at J. Gilbert's. They have fantastic steak, a little pricey, but if you sign up online, they send you coupons!

Sat, Sarah came over so we could finish our project. I am going to say: we love the outcome and it might end up being something I do on the side if people are interested! I'll give more details later! Afterwards, I ran some errands, then brought fresh baked brownies up to Michael's work. It was Brayden's last day there. We'll miss him. That night, Michael hung out with frie
nds and I went out with my friends! I had a blast, it's been a long time since I've been out on the town.

Sunday, Michael and I headed to Topeka. We met my family for lunch at Texas Roadhouse. We were celebrating my parent's 30th anniversary, and meeting Brad's girlfriend! Lunch was good, then we wanted to go bowling, but had to settle for skating. Yep, I said skating, you know...roller-skating. I haven't done that in years! We all had a great time...Michael loved it! We didn't get home til that evening....missed the superbowl, but that was fine by me. I was exhausted!

Dessert Party!

Sat, I met up with Sarah. We are working on a great project/gift for our friend Jody. She's getting married next month in CA! Michael and I are going and taking a few extra days for a vacation, I can't wait! And, it will be extra fun to have Sarah and Jackie both there! Once we give the gift to Jody, I'll post pictures on here...

Sunday we had a dessert party at my house for Michael's family. I made four desserts and everyone else each brought one. Also, I made a cheese ball and beer bread. We snacked, then played scattegories with all 8 of us. It was so fun...we were laughing the whole time. It was a great afternoon/evening. I have a ton of goodies left over...I brought them to work with me, I'm sure everyone appreciates that!

Michael and I took Lola to get ice-cream. They gave her a puppy cone, she loved it!

A trip home to family...

My weekend was just what I needed! I decided to go to Horton for the entire weekend. Whenever Michael and I go, it's always so fast due to either a holiday or the fact that Michael works every Sat - which means we can't leave town til after 5 on Sat afternoons. So, I decided to come for the whole weekend by myself. I stopped in Topeka to see my wonderful friend, Karen. It was good to catch up and play with Andrew and Ryleigh! I played a little b-ball and got my hair done with lots of bows and a braid...I can always use some pampering! From there, I stopped in Holton to visit my brother, Brad and see his house. We chatted a bit, then I finished my trip to Horton late Friday night. On Sat, Kelsey and I picked up Jason and ate at Breadeaux Pizza. It was good as always. My friend Paula was working and we visited for awhile. Then we went back to Jason's house. Chelsie had just gotten home....we hung out there for most the afternoon. After eating dinner, we met my parents and Brad at home and played some good old fashion Pitch and other card games. It was a lot of fun!

Sunday, we went to church and had lunch, then I headed back to KC to see my husband! We didn't get to hang out too long though. I had girl's night bunco. I met up with some friends, then we went to Lisa's house. It was fun to chat with everyone...and I ended up with the most wins and collected $35! Luckily I had Monday off since I didn't get home til almost midnight! It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend. By the way, Michael had a good one too. He hung out with friends both nights and is now an expert at guitar hero. :) Oh, and he cleaned out the garage so his 1965 Impala fits in it...nice for him to work on it, but not good for me with no space to walk to the deep freeze. Oh well...could be worse things to deal with.

Here is a couple pictures of the awesome crosses Michael got me for Christmas!

Girl's day and a birthday

Friday, we went to Dave and Buster's for date night. Ate, then played some games. I broke a nail getting crazy when hitting the NOS on a racing game. It was a fun date night! Sat, I met my friend Jackie for lunch and a movie. We went to Bride Wars, perfect chick flick! Sat night, Michael and I went out for our friend Kristin's birthday. It was fun. El Patron has pretty good food, then we headed to the Cashew.

Sunday, we went over to Michael's sister's. Jeff made homemade beer and Italian sausage. He did a great job on both!

Bowling

Ok, I'm still a week behind, but hope to catch up this week with two posts.
My sister came to visit Friday! We went out to eat, then bowling with friends. Sat. day, Kelsey and I went and saw Four Christmas's and then did a little shopping. We went to the AMC on 119th. The show time was only for the fork and dine, but since it was daytime, the tickets were $10 each and $5 of it goes towards a food/drink purchase. It was really nice there and exciting since we'd never been to one of them. There's a HUGE bar when you walk into those theaters...and inside the theater, they come to you to get your orders, crazy place! Kelsey left around 5 to head home. Michael and I stayed home Sat night...watched movies and hung out. Sunday, we did about the same...went to church, then came home and watched movies. It was nice...I'm super old now...not wanting to go out that often! We watched Eagle Eye last night, it was pretty good....crazy action packed!

Christmas!!!

Michael and I had a very busy, but great Christmas! On Christmas Eve, we headed to my parents' house. My mom had dinner for her side of the family. It was yummy and then we opened presents. Afterwards, we headed to Christmas Eve mass. On Christmas, my family got up and opened presents from Santa and each other. Then, we all went to my aunt's house for Christmas with my dad's side of the family. This year, we had Italian food for something different. It was really good! From there, we left for Michael's parents' house. We opened presents from everyone, then had another great meal! Finally, when we got to our house, Michael and I exchanged our gifts to each other...then headed to bed since both of us had to work the next day. It was a wonderful holiday with so much good food and gifts, and it was great to spend time with our families! I'm exhausted again, just thinking about it!

Midget Races...and more...

Last weekend was busy, but fun. Friday night I had my holiday party at work. It was a nice, refreshing party where everyone just relaxed and ate bbq and had a few beers. Afterwards, Michael and I went to date night. Since I'd already ate, I just got a salad and dessert...yummy!

On our way back home, he took my by a business on Metcalf...they have a wonderful display of lights that are in sync to a radio station.

Sat, I ran around trying to finish Christmas shopping while Michael worked. After he got off, be brought Braydan home and we headed to Kemper Arena for Midget Races. Ok, ok...before you get too excited at the images your head, they are little race cars on a dirt track. It was still fun though....Braydan races a micro car, but he didn't this weekend.

Sunday, we headed to Michael's parents for a dinner with all his extended family.

That evening I met up with some of my friends for our Christmas Exchange at Tomfooleries on the plaza. It's always great to see friends! Monday; Lynsey, Jeff, Tyler, Morgan, and Jason came over. We had spaghetti and watched Christmas movies...it was a perfect way to put us in the holiday spirit! This week has been crazy busy...I'll post soon about Christmas!

Won't you take me to...Funky Town?!

Ok, we've been super busy these last couple weeks! Can't believe Christmas is next week! We've been working on shopping, but still have a few more to get...then we need to get busy wrapping!
This last weekend, Michael and I went to date night at Texas Roadhouse. Sat, night, we met up with some friends and headed to Funky Town. It's always an experience...an interesting one. It's a good time, but you don't want to go more than a couple times a year.

Comments = Food Donations

Ok, I got this wonderful idea from Josh Solar's blog. He asked for bloggers to copy and spread the idea! For every comment that is left on either of my blogs on any post, I'll donate a canned food item to Harvesters. They are a wonderful organization that helps thoughout KC! This way, I get the excitement of reading comments and you get the satisfaction of helping give food to the needy!

Here's the rules to get this started! All you have to do is:

Leave me a comment on any post in either blog, and I'll donate a can for each comment!
For my photography blog, click here.

Thanks!
